This free service takes the latest headlines and articles on Vanguard.com and makes them available to you on your customized news pages or in your stand-alone RSS reader software.When a company like Vanguard not only sees the value of these tools enough to utilize them on their website, but when they feel comfortable sending it out in a general publication like their newsletter that they know will be read mostly by non-techies, I think that says a lot about the acceptance - and the resultant increasing use - of these tools in all areas of our lives.

Mutual Funds, RSS and Podcasts
One of the issues that comes up for many people in education regarding these web 2.0 tools is - Are they just a fad? Are they really useful and will they simply be replaced by the next thing? Well, I think everyone has to answer those questions for themselves, and I certainly think they will be replaced by the next thing - when the next thing is even better and more useful. But when these technologies really hit the mainstream, I think it should give pause to those who think they can just ignore it and it will go away. So, where does the title of this post come from? I received my mutual fund newsletter from Vanguard this week. Imagine my surprise (or maybe not) when I run across this article:
